I don’t have the time.
How many times have you found yourself saying “I don’t have the time?”
Believe it or not, we all have the time.
We all wake up every day with the same amount of time. We all have 24 hours in every day, we all have 7 days in every week, and we all have 52 weeks in every year.
It’s what we do with that time that counts.
Are you filling your hours, days and weeks with the things that are important to you, or are you clogging up your time with things that don’t serve you well?
Now’s the time to sort it out.
Of course, there are always some things we can’t change straight away, like caring for children or elderly relatives. When you can’t change a situation, the only thing to do is accept it as it is or change the way you think about it.
For important commitments that you can’t get out of right now, you might just have to accept that this is what you need to do for the time being because this is your purpose at this moment in time. Try not to beat yourself up about the other stuff you can’t fit in and be kind to yourself. Life is constantly changing and the situation won’t stay the same forever.
Take a moment to think about and remind yourself why you chose to take on those commitments. Why do you choose to spend time with your kids or take your Mum shopping? It’s good to stop and remind ourselves sometimes of the bigger picture.
For other things in your life and your business, look at what you can change.
There are lots of ways you can free up your time…
Get some focus, have a clear plan of what you want to get done and why it is important to you. Keep a copy of your plan close by and refer to it regularly. By reminding yourself what you want to spend your time doing, you’re more likely to make sure that’s what happens. It will keep you focused on your goals.
For everything else apply the three D’s..
Do the things you enjoy doing that are part of your bigger plan and get you closer to achieving your goals.
Delegate those tasks that someone else can do for you.
Ditch the things that don’t take you any closer to where you want to be.
And remember, it’s always ok to say no!
If you want to get focused, organised and free up more time…
